Ranking games in Overwatch often signify some tension. Naturally, this is more crucial at big tournaments. The way to stay cool tells the experts.
The first season of the Overwatch Contenders ended last weekend. Team Gigantti and EnVyUs promised victory. During the championship, all teams were constantly under excellent strain – all things considered, a lot depended upon the victory.
One of explanations for why both winners were able to claim themselves would be that they are able to better get a grip on themselves as a team. Invenglobal’s colleagues have heard in an interview the way a professionals stay relaxed despite the worries.
We create it!
Tim “Manneten” Bylund out of Team Misfits explains they are centered on the objective. “It’s important to keep in mind your team mates about the strategy. Do not overreact, stay calm. Remind everyone of their own tactics. After the staff is wiped out, it is very important to tell the team, ‘We could perform it !’ ”
Distance yourself and examine
On the flip side, the European champions of Team Gigantti take a second, much more self-critical route. They think on the mistakes, look at the specific situation in the “big picture” and rely upon their own experience.
The tank of the group, Jonna “Fragi” Lainethat puts it in particular: “When you train and begin a routine, you have something. At a high tension situation, you’ll collapse back in this system. When we succumb we believe, What’s our plan for second time? ‘ We take a step back and let ourselves to evaluate the situation. ”
DPS / Flex player Jiri “LiNkzr” Masalin adds that very step allows you to accommodate to this situation and thus gain the victory. Support Jonas “Shaz” Suovaara increases: “We generally don’t have any issue with the nerves. […] Even a 6-man wipe will not affect us. That is our mentality. […] I believe the most important thing is to play with * your * match. ”
Blow Off the crowd, Count on the expertise
The American winning team, EnVyUs, is pursuing a strategy of indifference. They do not focus on the audience at big tournaments. overwatch boost sums it up: “Usually we ignore the audience when we play with. Give Attention to the Monitor. When you accomplish it, it constantly feels the same, no matter where you play. ”
The team insists they have played that enthusiasm just does not exist. In addition, this can be transferred into the graded game: In case enough rounds are played, there is no reason to pressure yourself. Almost no chance is unique.
